Next Swedish Shooting Star: Nermina Lukač

(scroll down for Swedish text) For the third consecutive year, the international jury of the European Film Promotion (EFP) selected a Swedish artist to be one of the ten Shooting Stars – Nermina Lukacs (Photo: Carlo Rocchi Bilancini). The actors and actresses are presented at the Berlin Film Festival.

Nermina Lukacs was born in 1990 and is originally from Montenegro but was raised in Munkedal and Åstorp in Skåne and now lives in Helsingborg. She is a qualified teacher and currently works as a youth leader. Previously, she worked in a tape factory. After long and thorough search filmmaker Gabriela Pichler and casting director Lotta Forsblad found Nermina Lukacs at a recreation center, and after an audition she was cast for the leading role in  ÄTA SOVA DÖ.

Nermina Lukacs has so far won the award for best actress at film festivals in Seville and Amiens, received honorable mentioning at the Zurich Film Festival and has been named this year’s Rising Star award at the Stockholm Film Festival.

Among previous Swedish Shooting Stars include Bill Skarsgård, Alicia Vikander, Gustaf Skarsgård, Tuva Novotny and Alexandra Rapaport. Shooting Stars from other countries have included, among others, Carey Mulligan, Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Moritz Bleibtreu

Nermina Lukač föddes 1990 och kommer ursprungligen från Montenegro men är uppvuxen i Munkedal och Åstorp i Skåne och bor numera i Helsingborg. Hon är utbildad pedagog och arbetar idag som fritidsledare. Tidigare har hon arbetat på en tejpfabrik. Efter långt och idogt sökande hittade Gabriela Pichler och castarenLotta Forsblad Nermina Lukač på en fritidsgård och efter en provfilmning var rollen hennesNermina Lukač har hittills vunnit pris för bästa aktris på filmfestivalerna i Sevilla och Amiens, tagit emot hedersomnämnande på Zürich filmfestival samt blivit utnämnd till årets Rising Star på Stockholms filmfestival.
