Alexander Skarsgård as TARZAN

TRUE BLOOD ended - what are the actors up to now?

TRUE BLOOD‘s Viking Vampire Eric Northman (Swedish actor/director Alexander Skarsgård) has been busy acting and modelling during the show’s seven years (loved him in Lars von Trier’s MELANCHOLIA), and now he has got three new big projects: Alexander Skarsgård plays Lord Greystoke in TARZAN, no, not in a loincloth … as a matured man who looks back to his upbringing in the djungle. Quoting from Wikipedia her (and no doubt from the press kit as well): “It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane Porter (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.”

In horror flick HIDDEN (see photo) Skarsgård plays Ray, am American father keeping his family hidden (sic!) in a bomb shelter. Then there’s THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL, where he stars as Monroe, the boyfriend of said teenage girl’s mother – with whom she falls in love (who can blame her?).

Lite information för folk från Sverige (delvis på svenska): In 2003 Alexander Skarsgård wrote and directed a short film ATT DÖDA ETT BARN (To Kill A Child) – a film based on a novel which was written to alert people to the dangers of speeding, as Swedish Wikipedia tells us. Alexander’s little brother Valter Skarsgård (not so little any more, Valter is) stars in it and the storyteller’s voice is his father Stellan Skarsgård’s. The short won Odense Film Festival.
