Ok, ok, Halloween is over, but still …. I love the Vampires in DAYBREAKERS, above all, when they really, really become very thirsty (evil grin … with fangs). In this film – written and directed by the German brothers Michael and Peter Spierig – our beloved Undead run out of natural human blood and are desperately researching for a surrogate.

Nobody seems to have invented TRUE BLOOD in this universe, so Vampire Edward (!) starts to collaborate with humans (the mainstreamer!), and – behold! – they have a cure for Vampirism. It involves much grilling in the sunlight, but Edward (Ethan Hawke) turns human again and henceforth looks a little like Han Solo. Nevertheless, I still love the movie, and not only because of the Chrysler Daylight Driving System … found it on Netflix, but there’s a special edition on Amazon as well with lots of extras and infos about the film  [aartikel]B003BTU5HU:left[/aartikel]
